Tangerine Dream (3) – Tangerine Dream

Tangerine Dream is a German electronic music group that was founded in 1967 by Edgar Froese, who studied painting and sculpture. The group has undergone many changes of personnel over the years, and has explored various styles of music, ranging from ambient to rock. In 1992, Tangerine Dream released their 36th studio album, Rockoon, on the Miramar label. This album marked the beginning of the Seattle Years era, and featured a more melodic and rhythmic approach than their previous works. Rockoon was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best New Age Album in 1993, and reached number one on the Billboard New Age chart. The album also included contributions from saxophonist Linda Spa and Froese’s son Jerome, who would later join the group as a full-time member.
