The Battle of Mexico City is a live album by the American rock band Rage Against the Machine, recorded on October 28, 1999 at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City. The album was released on February 20, 2001 by Epic Records. The album captures the band’s performance in front of a passionate and politically charged crowd of 50,000 fans, who sang along to every word and raised their fists in solidarity with the band’s revolutionary message. The album features songs from the band’s three studio albums, as well as covers of Bruce Springsteen’s “The Ghost of Tom Joad” and MC5’s “Kick Out the Jams”.
