The Doctor is the ninth studio album by American rock band Cheap Trick, released in 1986. The album was produced by Tony Platt and features a more polished and pop-oriented sound than the band’s previous albums. The Doctor received mixed reviews from critics and fans, and was a commercial failure, peaking at number 115 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album spawned two singles, “It’s Only Love” and “Tonight It’s You”, but neither of them reached the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100. The Doctor is considered by many to be one of Cheap Trick’s weakest albums, and the band has rarely performed any songs from it live.

The Doctor is a mixed bag of an album. It features some of Cheap Trick’s best songs, but it also features some of their worst. The album is worth checking out for fans of the band, but it is not recommended for casual listeners.
