The Elf and the Hawk – Hawkwind



The Elf and the Hawk is the 34th studio album by the British space rock band Hawkwind, released in 2023. The album is a concept album based on a fantasy story written by Dave Brock, the band’s founder and leader. The story follows the adventures of an elf named Elora and a hawk named Harken, who are bonded by a magical spell and travel across a mystical land in search of a way to break the curse. The album features 12 tracks, each corresponding to a chapter of the story. The music is a blend of psychedelic rock, folk, and electronic elements, with Brock’s vocals and guitar, Richard Chadwick’s drums and percussion, Magnus Martin’s keyboards and synthesizers, and Niall Hone’s bass and samples. The album also features guest appearances by former Hawkwind members Huw Lloyd-Langton on guitar and Nik Turner on saxophone and flute.
