Together – Country Joe and the Fish

Together is the third studio album by the American psychedelic rock band Country Joe and the Fish, released in 1968 by Vanguard Records. The album marked a departure from the band’s previous sound, as they experimented with different musical styles and influences, such as folk rock, blues, soul, and jazz. The album also featured guest appearances by notable musicians such as Mike Bloomfield, Nick Gravenites, and Taj Mahal. Together received mixed reviews from critics, who praised the band’s musical diversity and maturity, but also criticized the lack of cohesion and direction. The album reached number 23 on the Billboard 200 chart and spawned two singles: “Rock and Soul Music” and “Here I Go Again”. Together is considered by some fans and critics to be one of the band’s best albums, as well as a reflection of the social and political turmoil of the late 1960s.
